         Diners will be spoil for choice with the set menus and large selection of a la cart dishes available. Meisan Szechuan Restaurant is a true gem in the southern city. This well-known restaurant style draws locals and visitors like for its excellent and authentic Szechuan cuisine. Its exotic decoration style and impressively ornate.




     Start with the shredded dried scallop soup with crab meat, which is a great replacement to shark's fin soup. The rich seafood flavor of the soup owes itself identity to the quite big amount of scallops and shredded crab meat. Another highly recommended dish is the tender of Chinese-style beef steak (tender and juicy beef cubes fried with onions in a sweet and sour sauce).  
















A Szechuan classic taste is far better than it looks, such as the fried string beans with minced chicken. The string beans are crunchy and chewy in texture, and full of flavor. Given that this is a Chinese restaurant, it may come as a surprise that the wine listing in the menu is very extensive. For a good result, pair your meal with wines from all the major wine-producing regions of the world. 




Do not miss the homemade bean curd minced chicken and Szechuan vegetables. The bold flavor of the Szechuan vegetables pickled was great, and together with the bean curd, which is crispy on the outside and silky smooth inside, make this a winning dish.

I got to try out to have a dinner in this place since it has a reputation for serving the only fresh seafood in town. For those who are on the way from Kuala Lumpur to Johor, they will be able to see this restaurant signage on the right side of the highway just after the exit of South Yong Peng interchange. You can easily find it using Google Maps in your smartphone.     The restaurant is named Kari Kambing 40 Hari (40 Days Lamp Curry) because of the restaurant will open for 40 days before closed for three days. The most popular menu here would have enjoyed the lamb curry with 'roti canai' (Canai Bread Spread) for breakfast as well as Arabic rice prepared by the chef. The restaurant opens at 7 am and closes when all food was sold out (at around 3pm).
